From an industry perspective, where is our focus? The United States government is the world´s largest purchaser of supplies and services, buying nearly $200 billion annually. This being said, the federal government is facing unprecedented challenges due to recent fiscal and political pressures. As such, topics such as security, citizen safety, and quality of life have become more of a critical focus. The government and its various agencies are expected to perform its customary duties with brilliance while also taking on directives such as homeland security, e-government, and information assurance. We feel this represents an unprecedented opportunity to add value when our nation and infrastructure is in somewhat of a transition period.
The other core industry focus of our firm is within the non-profit sector. A major focal point for such organizations is the optimization of two scarce resources - time and money. This is at least partially due to the fact that companies within this realm maintain and drive their operations in a way that is vastly different from commercialized entities. Among other things, government grants, individual donors, and pledges from other business and non-profit groups provide a diverse means of supplying capital. Our company´s focus on organizations within this sector is at least partially due to the driving force behind all non-profits: a mission that is focused on service and improving humanity and the world around us. This is motivation enough to work with such organizations.
Despite a shift in focus of our core customers, we will continue to work with and grow our individual and small business tax practice. We have been doing business with many of these individuals and groups for ten years now and we sincerely appreciate the partnerships we´ve been able to bridge during that time.
